Company Naming & Branding Expert - Phillip Davis
With over 25 years of brand name development experience, Phillip Davis is one of the most quoted company naming experts globally. Phil has personally named and/or branded over 250 companies, products and services worldwide. Some of his work includes PODS (Portable On Demand Storage), as well as TeamLogicIT, EarlyMoments, TradingBlock, and DoubleCross Vodka.
Phil has written for, or been quoted in Inc. Magazine, WSJ.com, Entrepreneur.com, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, American Express OPEN Forum, Newsday.com, Reader's Digest, D&B's AllBusiness.com, MediaPost.com and ReadWriteWeb.com, as well as numerous industry specific trade publications. He is also a regular contributor and/or guest columnist for StartupNation.com, SmallBusinessDelivered.com, SocialMediaToday.com, SocialMediaExaminer.com, and MyVenturePad.com. Phil's branding articles are frequently referenced, cited and syndicated by those researching and publishing branding related topics.
When not actively naming a company, Phil speaks on the subject of "brilliant branding" and best industry practices. He has served as both keynote branding speaker, as well as subject matter expert on brand development. Audiences include Vistage groups nationwide, branding seminars, industry group meetings, trade conventions, and business development workshops.
Phil started in the marketing business by founding a full service advertising agency at the age of 26 in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. He was recognized with a Price Waterhouse Up & Comer Award at the very start of his career and continued by building a marketing firm that attracted a broad range of retail, medical, industrial and B2B clientele.
After 17 years at the helm, Phil left his agency to devote himself entirely to the art of naming and branding. He and his family relocated to the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina where he founded Tungsten Branding in 2003. Since that time, Phil has worked regionally, nationally and internationally to build clear, compelling brand identities that convey a cohesive message. His commitment to brand clarity is the hallmark of Tungsten Branding.
In between naming, branding, writing and speaking, Phil is also a fitness buff, serving as a part time kickboxing instructor. He often volunteers his time helping with local business development. Upon arriving in his new home town, Phil helped to start/brand The White Squirrel Festival, now an annual event. He resides with his rather large and boisterous family, three dogs and too many cats in the (third) "coolest small town in America," -- Brevard, North Carolina.
